Prayer #00042
Good Morning LORD! A new week, a new day, and a new hour is upon us! As we begin this week we ask for strength to cope with the stress of our jobs; patience to deal those who will test our patience; and endurance to deal with the daily trials and joys that come with taking care of our families. LORD go before us and prepare the way. Order our steps and keep us focused on You. Let the words we speak to one another be encouraging and uplifting and not that of belittlement and criticisms. Even when we may be tired of another’s behavior, give us patience and understanding … for we know not what they are suffering in their minds.
LORD, please be a source of comfort and strength to those who have lost loved ones due to the heinous acts of another. I PRAY for the mentally ill and ask You to show us how to deal with them and their illnesses. For many have suffered harshly and have had their lives taken away from them because of the mental illnesses of these individuals. FATHER, I believe that all of these acts are not performed by the mentally ill alone, but also by individuals with “well” minds, that decide to take the life of another because they feel “personally” disrespected. I believe there has to be a way to minimize all this unnecessary violence against one another, no matter what the reason. LORD, only You can give congress the mindset they need, the answers they seek, and the fight required to amend gun laws and help keep guns out of the hands of sick people … as well as those who decide to harm and kill just for sport. It has become so bad and we need your help to make a difference, for it is only seems to be getting worse and more chaotic. HELP US LORD! HEAR OUR CRY! WE DESPERATELY NEED YOUR GUIDANCE! PLEASE, PLEASE SEND CHANGE! The enemy is a liar and we know it, but only your touch can help us change this hurtful narrative. For the mentally ill, I PRAY that their loved ones will take the necessary steps to get them the help they need and remove any weapons from their home during this time — especially if the child is underage and still living at home. For the mentally ill persons that are adults and living on their own, GOD HELP THEM get the proper care they need, and assign loved ones and friends to help where they can.
For the “well” minded individuals, touch their hearts and minds so that they realize and accept, that violence is NEVER the answer. Help us all to come to terms with our differences, and to understand that it is our differences that make us — the human race — so uniquely POWERFUL. Help us to realize that we have the POWER within us to change the outcome; and show us how to tap into that POWER and use it to your GLORY. Show us how to be more accepting of one another so that we can begin to change this negative, malicious, destructive, incomprehensible, narrative that has become the status quo of this crazy world we live in; and that has taken the lives of too many. Thank you FATHER for hearing my PRAYER. For this I PRAY in YOUR mighty and precious name. Now as I go through this day, I thank you for all that you will do in my life. Thank you for my faith, my hope, my patience, and for the HOLY SPIRIT that lives inside. Amen.
